Bell 205 UH-1D 1:6 – Fuselage Kit

The “big Bell UH-1D” from VARIO is a 1050 size scale helicopter. You can power this remote-controlled model helicopter with turbine or electric propulsion. Bell Helicopter is the creator of the man-carrying version.

An opening hatch can be installed in the scale position in the extreme nose of the fuselage, and this can be used to conceal facilities such as switches. The accessories for installing the hatch are included in the door fittings set. The tail boom is attached by a central screw-fitting joint; all you have to do is disconnect the tail rotor servo and undo the joint to remove the boom. The mechanical system is supported on a sub-structure consisting of aluminium plates with plastic connecting pieces, which in turn is screwed to the skid landing gear. The 3-litre kerosene tank is located on the bottom of the fuselage below the entry step. The position of the turbine aft of the rotor shaft inevitably requires nose weight for the correct Centre of Gravity, and this means that it is possible to install extensive scale fittings in the cockpit, including pilots, safety belts, landing searchlights etc. We decided on a rotor disc diameter of 2300 mm in order to ensure that this helicopter has good auto-rotation characteristics as well as very high performance. With an all-up weight of 15 – 16 kg.

For VARIO’s 1050 Huey we recommend a maximum main rotor speed of 960 rpm. Electric drive sets from VARIO are already tuned to this head speed.

The UH fuselage kit for the Pro 5000 turbine can be ordered with Ord.No. 2060.

The turbine version fascinates by the smell of kerosene, a gently starting rotor, accompanied by the unmistakable sound of a turbine. Until the electrical power revolution in radio controlled model construction, turbines were the most powerful drives. In terms of flight times, turbines are still superior to electro-flight.

Turbine Mechanics JetCat PHT3-3 (mechanics and turbine)

The drive of this model is also possible with a JetCat turbine. However, since the upgrade of the PHT3 series to the V2 version, there are deviations from the previous version. For this purpose, components of the kit must be adapted accordingly at your own discretion.

Electric Mechanics 1002/78

Our propulsion recommendation for this helicopter! Contemporary mechanics, especially designed for the scale model electric flight. The mounting points in the fuselage are identical to those of the turbine mechanics Ord.No. 1002/68 and 1002/69. Therefore, the mechanics can be used in almost all kits that also fit these VARIO turbine mechanics with upper turbine position (in this case Ord.No. 2060). Electric motors are quiet, low in vibration, without exhaust gases and residual thrust. The blade slap noise sound of the rotor blades is more noticeable than with other types of propulsion and the result is a true-to-life impression in flight. For this electromechanical system we offer a drive set for 12S LiPos.
